Chicken Update
They are delicious….
Actually Harrisonburg City Council voted to allow chickens in the city, providing the owner has at least two acres or more. So basically there wont be many people that can have chickens. I hope this has been resolved once and for all, frankly there are more important things that we should be focusing our attention on. Health Care… that’s a good one. How about the drive by shooting that happened on Monday? On the Daily News Record’s site there were 48 comments on their chicken story and only 30 on the shooting. It’s now official- farm animals are a bigger story than people getting shot….
Alas… it is not over yet. There will be yet another chicken vote next month. The only good thing that came out of all of this is a quote by Nancy Garber:
She said, “Chickens in backyards are just as illegal as marijuana plants.” I’m thinking the police and the judge would beg to differ.
I have smelled enough chickens in Harrisonburg to last a lifetime.
